I took my first black and white photography class at Mount San Antonio College in 1999 and dabbled with a little Freehand shortly thereafter. In the early 2000's, I was studying music at Cal State Long Beach. I always had my film camera with me on choir tours. I shot at our annual Coffee House concerts. I even shot a couple of friend's recitals. But back then, I wanted to be a choir director- not a photographer.
Life has a funny way of changing things on you. I completed my studies at CSULB in Fall 2007. I ended up back at Mt Sac needing to find a new life's course. I started taking photography classes because my mom was taking them after retiring and needed someone to be her "grip". By the time I had taken all the classes I wanted to, I was halfway through the AS degree requirements, I decided to go for it.
While everyone else was shooting weddings, bands, or portraits, I found my love of food photography and still life photography. I also started working for a diaper bag company and had the opportunity to shoot the images for their catalogs. Since graduating in 2013 with my AS in Photography and a Digital Photography Technician certificate, I have completed some freelance graphic design work and am the Social Media/Marketing person for San Gabriel Valley Choral Company based in Monrovia.
